Saturday Night at Judson Class of '86 Reunion

There are just no words to describe how fun last night was. I'm exhausted, and can hardly think, but the pictures speak for themselves. I could have stayed hours longer!
Here are the rest of the pictures.

Last Night...

I had the best time at my 20th (gulp) Reunion! Now, I've been looking forward to this weekend WAY more than I ought to admit, and last night did not dissappoint. It is so, SO GOOD to see my old friends. And let me just say that everyone looks fantastic.

There were lots of people that I didn't get to see, and I'm hoping that tonight they will come. I can't even begin to try to list the names-I wish the reunion was mandatory for everyone!

Well, enough rambling. Here are some of my favorite photos, and the link to the entire gallery is here.

Dressy Casual?

A few months ago the details for my high school reunion were sent out. Apparently things are a little more casual this time than they were at our 10 year reunion, as the dress code is going to be "dressy casual," and the venue is Sunset Station, a club-like place downtown.

Now that seemed simple enough at the time. But as my friends and I are starting to talk about what to wear, I'm getting more confused! According to one source that I googled, the definition says: Dressy Casual usually means no jeans or shorts. Similar to business casual, but a tad dressier.

Hmmm, I told my husband Chip to wear jeans with an untucked shirt, and a friend of mine was thinking of wearing jeans, too. Will they be too casual? Some of my other friends are wearing very nice sundresses with high heels, will they be too dressy?

Isn't the new, more casual style of dressing supposed to make things easier? It isn't! Maybe the invitation should just say exactly what they mean-no formals, no tuxedos, no jeans, no shorts, no t-shirts, no tennis shoes, no flip-flops. Now THAT I can understand!

Welcome the the world, Addison Brooke!

We have a new baby girl in the family! She is my neice, and she was born one week ago. I am so excited and can't wait to see her. These are the only images that I have so far. My sister, Andie, isn't on the computer as much as I am. ANDIE, SEND ME SOME MORE PICTURES!!!!!

Something different

I had a fantastic shoot last weekend, that I am still so excited about. I did some images a while back for three gorgeous kids that turned out to be some of my best. Well, their mom contacted me with a request for some specific images that she had in mind that were a little different from the traditional portraits that I do. She wanted something a little more edgy, so I jumped at the challenge!

The following image is of her son and his clarinet. I haven't finished editing all of the images, but this one really jumped out at me. I'm having a great time with these!

I did a photo shoot of my daughter Devon and her cousin Keagan today (who is the son of Gina (Cantu) Herrera). It was so much easier than working with toddlers, but why oh why did I take them within walking distance of a mall? Devon just wanted to get the pictures over with so she could go shopping!

These two could be brother and sister instead of cousins, don't you think?

Devon, GET MY CAMERA!

The kids took a bubble bath last night. I wasn't sure if Morgan is old enough for it, so I bathed her first, got her out and dressed, and then put the boys in the tub with lots of bubbles. Since Chip wasn't home, I had to keep Morgan in the bathroom with me, so she stood at the edge playing with the bubbles and laughing at the boys. Until...

Girl's Trip!

I'm back today from a much needed vacation-a girls trip to the lake! I had absolutely the best time with my girlfriends Gina and Donna, who I've known since elementary school. We laughed, partied, talked for hours, and stayed up whispering all night, just like we did almost 30 years ago at our slumber parties. I am refreshed and renewed, and ready again for the daily grind.

The best part of the weekend? New friends! Our hosts,Robin and Karen Ruff, whom I had never met before Friday, were truly amazing. I can not imagine nicer people. They were laid back, warm, super friendly people who had no reason to extend their hospitality to us, but they did it so graciously. I think we all felt very welcome, and we had a blast.

On the second day of our trip, many more people arrived at the lakehouse, and then the party really started. I met so many fantastic people and I loved every minute of it. I told my husband Chip when I got home that that is the lifestyle I want for us. I'll make whatever sacrifices I have to if it means we can have a weekend house on the lake, and invite friends to share it with us just like Robin and Karen do. That is my dream.

Here are a few photos from the weekend. I'll put the rest on my website in a day or so.

This is Robin and Karen

Just the girls...that's me in the middle, Gina on my right and Donna on my left. Behind me are two of the girls we met, Trisha and Wendy.

Gina catching some rays...

These are the best behaved kids EVER. I got to spend a little time with Mariah as we crossed the lake on a jet ski, and she is just a doll. That's her in the middle, her sister Katelyn in the back and Jonathan in front. I hope I'm spelling everyone's names right!

Wow, it is so nice to get away, and even better to be back home again. I really missed Chip and the kids, who had a great weekend of their own.

Donna, Gina and I have made a pact to have a girls trip every year, and Carrie, you had better come next time!!!!!!
